DevOps Meetup

What do a heavyweight open-source giant and a scrappy new project have in common?
DevOps!

In this session, we’ll share real-world stories from both ends of the open-source spectrum – big and small – and how each tackles DevOps challenges in its own way.

From cloud-native tools to virtualization strategies, we’ll explore how projects of all sizes build scalable, efficient workflows. We’ll also dig into why companies like Tietoevry contribute to open source – not just to adopt tools, but to help shape them, avoid vendor lock-in, and support long-term sustainability.

Join us for a behind-the-scenes look at how open collaboration has sharpened our DevOps game – and turned shared code into shared success.

Program:
17:00 – 17:30 Registration & Refreshment
17:30 – 18:15 Beyond Autocomplete: The Rise of Generative AI in the DevOps Workflow, Jindřich Byrtus, Tietoevry
18:15 – 18:30 Networking & Refreshment
18:30 – 19:15 Big and Small: DevOps Stories from the Open-Source World with Roman Krček, Slávo Val´ko, Martin Matyáš, Tietoevry

Beyond Autocomplete: The Rise of Generative AI in the DevOps Workflow
We all know Generative AI as the magical force behind code completion, but what if that same intelligence could revolutionize your entire DevOps pipeline? This talk will go beyond the familiar in-editor tools to explore how Generative AI is shifting the DevOps paradigm from manual, reactive processes to a smart, proactive workflow.
We’ll discuss how Generative AI is being used across the development lifecycle: from generating complex boilerplate code and comprehensive unit tests to analyzing and summarizing pull requests for potential issues. We’ll also explore its role in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), where it can interpret human-readable requests and translate them into production-ready configurations, and its impact on the automation of security checks.
Join us to understand how AI-powered DevOps is not just a productivity hack but a fundamental change in how we build, test, and deploy software. We’ll examine the opportunities, address the challenges, and discuss how engineers can evolve their roles to leverage this technology to become more strategic, innovative, and focused on solving the problems that truly matter.
